Hyatt Regency DFW
Woodbine purchased the property, including Bear Creek Golf Club, from AMFAC in 1986, when the hotel had 1,369 guest rooms in two towers, one on each side of International Parkway, the north-south artery of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
In 2001 the airport bought and demolished the West Tower to make way for the Grand Hyatt DFW, which opened in 2005. Woodbine serves as asset manager for that property as well. Also in 2005, the Hyatt Regency’s (East Tower’s) public spaces were renovated. In 2006, the golf club was sold to an affiliate of CNL Lifestyle Properties and is now operated by Billy Casper Golf.
In 2008 Hyatt Regency DFW’s new look won it a Silver Magellan Award from Travel Weekly for Upscale (Four-Star) Standard Room Design. That same year, Corporate & Incentive Travel magazine honored the hotel with an “Award of Excellence,” which recognizes superior staff service and excellent accommodations and meeting facilities, and Meetings & Conventions awarded the property its coveted Gold Key award.
Woodbine has provided project and asset management and worked closely with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in overseeing the property’s total renovation, including all guest rooms and suites, and repositioning in 2007.
