In 2018, Woodbine’s private real estate fund, Woodbine Legacy Investments, acquired Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC Downtown. The purchase was the fourth for the fund. Hilton Garden Inn – DC boasts a prime location in the heart of the nation’s capital, just blocks from the White House, U.S. Capitol and Convention Center, Smithsonian museums, National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Ronald Reagan Building, Embassy Row and the Washington DC Convention Center—also across the street from the McPherson Square Metro station and just four miles from Ronald Reagan National Airport.
In addition to 300 guestrooms, suites and accessible rooms, the hotel features a business center, fitness center, indoor pool and flexible meeting and event space along with the Grist Mill and Grist Mill Lounge, perfect for casual dining, happy hours and more.
All guest rooms were updated in 2018 before the acquisition, and Woodbine will begin a renovation on the rest of the hotel in 2019. Upgrades will be made to the check-in and lobby experience; food-and-beverage offerings such as the grab-and-go, lounge and bar/restaurant; as well as the meeting spaces, fitness center and pool. Additionally, Woodbine serves as the asset manager of the hotel.
